Tour overview

An incredible cycling experience in Italy, from coast to coast.

This epic ten-day cycling adventure will take you from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic Sea, across three of Italy’s most beautiful regions. This tour is led by an all-star local Italian team who know these roads like the back of their hand. They’ll show you corners of Tuscany, Umbria and Marche that you never even knew existed. Climb spectacular mountains, ride over the rolling Tuscan hills between vineyards and olive groves, and spend each night in a different magical mediaeval town along the way.

Siena and Montepulciano are just an example of the cultural immersion you’ll also experience on this trip. Stay in luxury accommodation and visit acclaimed restaurants, all included in the price of this coast-to-coast tour, with the chance to taste local dishes and fabulous wines from local vineyards. What better way to relax after a long day in the saddle?

The Italy Coast to Coast Adventure road bike tour is divided into stages, which are best suited to cyclists with an intermediate level of training. It starts out on undulating roads that sweep through the landscape, becomes more challenging towards the middle of the trip as we approach the Apennine Mountains, and then levels out again as we approach the Adriatic Sea. But rest assured that you will be accompanied throughout the trip by a minibus and our expert guides, in case unforeseen issues arise.

Tour destination

TUSCANY - ITALY

Tuscany is at the top of many road cyclists’ bucket list. It is a dream riding location given its long empty roads that sweep across undulating countryside, and some of the Strade Bianche routes come along these very roads. It is home to world famous cities such as Florence and Pisa, as well as countless romantic Renaissance villages, perched atop the hills and mountains overlooking the vast green countryside below. We’ve planned this tour in order to show you the best of the best of Tuscany, but also of Umbria and Marche, as we cross Italy from coast to coast through some of the most beautiful and memorable landscapes in the country.

  • Weather

Italy has a wonderfully pleasant climate with mild sunny winters and hot steamy summers. It is a fantastic year-round location for cycling, especially during the off season, when you can enjoy quieter roads and cycle all day long without having to avoid the midday heat.

  • Terrain

From undulating green fields of vineyards to soaring mountains and glistening coastline, this area of central Italy really has it all. It is home to some tough climbs and beautiful descents, but also flatter landscapes and sweeping roads that make for a much calmer riding experience. Hot summer days can get quite dusty, so make sure to pack your glasses and a face covering in case you find yourself in the middle of the peloton!

  • Culture

Italian culture and people are known around the world for being warm, welcoming and friendly. Not only will we get to see some incredible sites and meet some wonderfully kind people, we will also get to taste some of Italy’s best food and wines, grown and produced in the very regions we’ll be riding through. This tour really is an all-round Italian experience and adventure, certainly one that will leave you wanting to extend your stay!
