Tour overview

CHALLENGING RIDES ACROSS RAW AND RUGGED TERRAIN

Lanzarote is famous for having some of the most dramatic landscapes in Europe. Its 200 plus volcanoes, rich black earth and beautifully warm climate makes this island a real adventure playground for cyclists all year round.

The calm, laid-back island life on Lanzarote also makes it a haven for road cyclists. The quiet empty roads stretch on for kilometres, making it possible to explore much of the island’s surface area by bike. It also has a rich artistic culture, with many works by César Manrique, painter, sculptor and architect. His work, such as Los Jameos del Agua, is a must-see whilst you’re visiting Lanzarote.

This self-guided cycling tour offers a unique opportunity to see and explore Lanzarote like never before. Book now or contact us for more information.

Experience the Volcanic Terrain

Lanzarote is a haven for road cyclists. At times, the island is transformed into the surface of the moon, thanks to its wild and rugged landscape. Its volcanic landscape is like no other, and creates a breathtaking backdrop to any ride, whether looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean or over cactus-covered hills and turquoise lagoons. Lanzarote will not disappoint.

Tour destination

LANZAROTE - SPAIN

Lanzarote is often compared to the moon and it's no wonder why. It’s a magical place. The landscape is barren and rugged, covered in volcanic rocks and valleys created by torrents of lava hundreds of years ago. Unlike the other Canary Islands such as Tenerife, Lanzarote’s mountains are not as high, but even so, there is no lack of challenging climbs. The long, winding roads are smooth and never-ending, making cycling Lanzarote a real adventure. This tour is ideal for cyclists looking for something off the beaten track and a unique and wild backdrop to their adventures.

Discover More
  • Weather

Lanzarote has a wonderfully pleasant climate with mild sunny winters and hot dry summers. It is a fantastic year-round location for cycling, especially during the off season, when you can avoid the crowds, enjoy quieter roads and cycle all day long without having to avoid the midday heat.

  • Terrain

Lanzarote’s terrain is like no other you’ll find in Spain and has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It's like cycling across the surface of the moon, dotted with craters and black rocky mountains. From the Fire Mountains to Famara Beach and the Atlantis Tunnel, Lanzarote is a veritable treasure trove of geographical and geological wonders. One of the island’s main attractions is the Timanfaya National Park spanning over 50 square kilometres, home to some of its native wildlife such as the Harí lizard.

  • Culture

Lazratore, like the rest of the Canary Islands and mainland Spain, has a rich culture and history. The locals traditionally embrace a joie de vivre spirit and are known for their sense of humour and generosity. The island’s gastronomy is dominated by fish and seafood, and a lot of the wine comes from local vineyards grown in the rich and fertile volcanic soil. So whilst you are on the island to cycle, don’t neglect seeing everything else it has to offer!

Accommodation during your tour

Comfortable 3-4* Hotels

The hotels are chosen specifically based on their location in charming coastal villages as well as their proximity to the start and end of each route, so you can focus on some well-deserved R&R. Once you arrive back from your ride it’s your time to explore, relax on the beach and sample the local cuisine.

Breakfast Included

Fuel up before a long day of riding with a hearty breakfast at your hotel, as well as a nice big cup of coffee!

After a day in the saddle, the evenings are your own, leaving you free to choose your own restaurant for dinner and enjoy a well-deserved meal after the day’s adventure.
