Cycling's best kept secret
Highlights of your trip
We've got your back. Experienced local guides not only take you to the best places but also make sure you are good at all times. Be it a cycling technique advice or a local tale, you'll appreciate both.
You need to be good and rested. We take that to the next level, in style. Stay in a rural house or a converted monastery, tasting wines from the fields that surround it. Connect to the soil and live like a local.
WINE HARVESTING EXPERIENCE
It doesn't need to be just about cycling. We are taking you on the tour so that you can embrace the Murcian culture. Join the locals to celebrate the year's wine harvest, which is a fiesta on its own.
MURCIA - SPAIN
Murcia sits on the Mediterranean coast to the South of more widely known cycling locations, such as Calpe or Alicante. But guess what - Murcia boasts great roads, nice beaches and a self-sufficient authentic culture. It is also slightly warmer here which makes it an excellent spot for all-season cycling. What's more, you can explore less crowded towns with impressive architecture, some welcoming villages and unspoilt wine culture.
All year cycling at it's best - that's what makes Murcia an exiting cycling destination. Avoid summer months if you are too sensitive to heat or if you not in the mood of getting up early for the ride. But stick around for the rest of the year to have mild sun, little rain and comfortable weather.
Murcia has got everything. You have some flats, a few mountain passes, and plenty of climbs to push your fitness. While the terrain isn't as intense as the Pyrenees, there is still a great amount of variety in the riding to give you the training that you need.
Spanish culture never disappoints. Any visit to Spain will show it's a patchwork of regions with their own spirit, culture and often language. Murcia boasts some great symbols of the Moorish presence that is still very well preserved. Check out Cartagena for the vibe, or go to the city of Murcia for some fine architecture amongst orange trees.
