This region is truly familiar with road races – De Ronde is a World Tour race that runs every April, bringing out around half a million cycling fans to the streets to cheer on the riders. On this tour, you can conquer the same climbs as the professionals while stopping for a fuelling coffee and snack along the way.

Cycling is at the heart of Flanders' culture. Mythical climbs like Koppenberg, Kwaremont, Paterberg, Kemmelberg or Muur are all within easy reach and suited for all levels. Another gem to discover is the routes from the classic Gent-Wevelgem also known as ‘In Flanders Fields’ which takes you back to some historic routes along the battlefields of WWI, the famous ‘Plugstreets’ and of course the notorious ‘Kemmelberg’.

Weather

Be prepared to experience all four seasons in one day. The winters can get fresh but you can still find true, die-hard cyclists tackling the routes. Summer months are pleasant for long days of exploring without getting too hot.

Terrain

Rolling terrain with some steep Bergs in the Flemish Ardennes combined with some cobbles sections. Flat especially along the many rivers and canals. Medieval cities and small villages along the route but always with a church and a café in the middle. Suitable for any level of cyclist.

Cycling runs deep in Flanders. These roads have seen bikes and races for over 140 years bringing out thousands of fans to cheer along the sidelines. Along with bikes with the perfect combination of fantastic local brewers and farmers providing flavour and flair to each day.

This modern boutique hotel is situated in the centre of Oudenaarde, a historic town with an impressive gothic Town Hall and Belfry along with a numerous amount of bars and restaurants.

Oudenaarde is better known as the gateway to the Flemish Ardennes where you find all the Bergs (hills) and cobbles of the Classic race ‘De Ronde van Vlaanderen’. Within a couple of miles, you find a true cycling theatre of dreams!

The hotel offers extremely cosy and spacious rooms. An outstanding buffet breakfast is included each morning at the hotel restaurant.

All bikes can be stored in the secured bike storage within the hotel premises. A bike wash is also available.

Day 1

Arrival to Oudenaarde

Check-in and explore your surroundings. In the afternoon we will get the bikes fitted out ready for the week followed by the trip meet & greet with your local guide. Here you will get information about the routes, timing and general information you will need.

Dinner at leisure in the hotel or in one of the many restaurants of Oudenaarde.
