MALLORCA

In the high season the amount of carbon per square kilometre here is insane. Especially loved by roadies, Mallorca has become the hottest European destination, and for a reason. Places like Sa Calobra or Cap Formentor are sacred for many riders and on the wish lists of even more. Others think that the place is too crowded and look elsewhere. Both might be right but one is for sure – Mallorca is dead awesome place for riding, as well as spending a week or too seeing around and just relaxing.

Weather

Mallorca's weather is a dream, especially among UK cyclists! It's very mild here to cycle all year round given you are ready to wear a bit of extra layers. Hot in the summer, so you will have to get up really early to have a fresher ride. In the winter and early spring it can get windy and if you are less lucky then you might get a rainy few days.

Terrain

Terrain is one of the reasons why Mallorca is so popular among the vast variety of cyclists. The island is generally rolling hills with the exception of Tramuntana - the high mountain ridge that runs on the Western side. So while mountains have all the mighty and famous rides like Sa Calobra, you can take it easy and enjoy the hills of the rest of the island.

Culture

Mallorca speaks language that is very much Catalan - Mallorquín - and shares a lot of mainland Catalan culture. But it definitely has it's unique taste to it. Unlike the infamous mass resorts that can be found here, Mallorca is massively authentic if you know where to look. So be sure to go for local restaurants, often the further from the sea the better.

Once the Capital of Mallorca, Sineu sits practically in the middle of the island so it’s a great place to explore the inland region of Mallorca which offers great variety and charm. On Wednesdays they have the farmers market that have been running from the 1300’s and it’s quite cool thing to watch with the whole town dressing up for it, live music if the weathers fine, and lots of local products and even animals for sale. Really remarkable, so hopefully with your arrival day we could fit a Wednesday so you can enjoy this cultural highlight of Mallorca.

Day 1 will be an Arrival day. We will arrange a transfer to Sineu (35 minutes) where we will met you review the itinerary, have a safety and logistics briefing, bike fit and hopefully, depending on the time of your arrival, you can go for a quick 20-40 Km loop ride around Petra, VilaFranca and Sant Joan with an optional climb to Bonany Hermitage.
